  2. It’s an interesting idea. Though sometimes people are forbidden to learn to read and write. There are various means to do that. It would be good to have seen that angle included here.

    • During slavery enslaved people were forbidden by state and local law to learn to read and write. Some found a way despite the laws. I’d be curious to know how people are forbidden to learn to read and write in modern times, though I don’t doubt it.
